A Day At Bukit Timah Hill

 

Went out with dear beloved CAI today!!! Since both of us were really free... We went to BUKIT TIMAH HILL, a place I've always wanted to go.

Went to NUS to register myself. Met some of my faculty mates haha they are really nice people. By the way, my faculty has only 75 people, out of that only 6 males haha. All the best to them!

NUS is really a vibrant school with lots of activities, so I really gotta get my focus right...

Met up with Jeff and Matthew for a buffet dinner. Jeff is getting married in 2 months! So excited for him and myself cos I'm gonna be his bridesmaid hahaha... He said I should start to slim down NOW...

Am really happy recently for no particular reason! I think it's the joy of the Lord! Thank God for conquering this battle with me. Feel so free now! I really can't contain the joy!!! So please bear with me!!!!

Went to Sentosa alone to chill. There were a lot of peacocks hanging around and one white peacock caught my attention. Haha. Never seen such a thing before, is it rare or what?

Met up with Bird for dinner at Kimgary @ Vivo (the name is just weird la) and ELGIN sneaked up and BOOM-ed me!!!

He sat in and watched our orchestra rehearsal last night, so we grabbed the chance to take photos with him hahaha...

That was our last rehearsal, will be performing this weekend @ both JW and Expo. So all of us have to travel to and fro the far east and the wild west.

Literally having a performance marathon. Hahaha... Should be fun.

Marilyn won't be playing with us this time, so there'll only be me and Elgin for the cello section. Hope my cello teacher can play on Sunday @ Expo.

Must recruit more cellists!!!

Went for the NUS/NTU camp, but didn't stay overnight cos I feel unsettled in some things. Sorting out my life now, making sure the start of uni will be good.

Won't be going for my own nus camp too cos i registered late? Haha. Really happy man. I mean, we can make friends anytime, but some things have to be dealt with right there and then.

For as long as the battle goes on, I will keep fighting on... I can sense I'm slowly winning the battle already. But I won't be satisfied until I feel I have completely claimed the victory.

However, IT will not be happy too and will wanna revenge!!!!!! Too bad la. I'd say BRING IT ON!!!

Phew.

Spent my day @ Sentosa with my sub-zone. It was fun. Especially the volleyball! Don't know when's the next time I'll be playing again though...

Had a quartet performance last night @ JW church and we played "CANON IN D" (Everybody's favourite classical piece, esp KaiLin =P) My very first quartet performance and it was fun.

During rehearsals we had difficulty synchronizing all the parts and it sounded very messy. Right up to soundcheck shortly before performing. Thank God that during performance all of us were in time with one another and we performed our best one.

It's a miracle I think. Cos most of the time performance on stage is only around 60-80% of our best during rehearsals. I think. Really thank God for that man.

Kinda screwed up my piano exam. Was hoping that my fingers wouldn't be cold and shaky, yet it was warm and limp... Haa... Kinda disappointed with my performance cos I did my best at that moment, but still it wasn't my best standard. Probably even below my average.

Results will only be out in a few months. Meanwhile, I'm really looking forward to playing OTHER repertoires...

Had a long day ytd and thought I could have a nice rest at night. I ended up tossing on my bed for 3 EXCRUCIATING HOURS until 6 plus in this morning. My mind and body couldn't coordinate again.

Thank God that my sms woke my mum up and we ended talking from 330-430. Don't know why both parents like to talk so much. Haha.

Another reason why I couldn't sleep - I couldn't sleep in my favourite position! Had an injection ytd to boost my antibodies against Hep B. Had drawn some blood last week for Hep B testing and they discovered I don't have enough antibodies. This means that I'm more susceptible to contracting Hep B.

It was so freaking painful, resulting in my whole left arm feeling weak and sore. The nurse wasn't exactly friendly, just like the typical old, grumpy nurses you often encounter. (Sorry for the stereotype.)

Sometimes I feel they should really get some life outside... Breathe some fresher air... Brighten up their lives a little...

The poor patients have to first pluck up their courage and submit themselves under total control of a stranger, that takes a lot of FAITH... And some people are just freaking scared of needles and blood, but those nurses who think that they have been through SO MUCH over the years, just scoff at those patients for being freaking scared and they get GRUMPY and IMPATIENT, thus instill in the patients some more unnecessary phobia over the years.

Nevermind, please forgive them!!!!!

The next generation WILL arise and stand in the gap!!!!!!!

Piano exam's in 3 DAYS. I'm really sick of playing the exam pieces and scales.

Went to check out my exam venue @ Young Musicians' Society yesterday, and I LOST my way while trying to locate it. Haha... Realised it's actually so near NAFA la.

So now I'm confirmed going to study NURSING in NUS. While some disapprove of that, others support me and a MINORITY fears for the worst. *Evil Grin*

Haha, whatever it is, I don't really care. I'm really excited about starting school, and even more excited about the attachment after every semester.

USED TO want to be a DOCTOR but somehow had forgotten about that thought as years went by. Why doctor??? Cos I've always dream about working in an OPERATING THREATRE. Hope I'm one step nearer to that dream now. Hehe...

Also hope that some day, I can help the casualties in disastrous regions of Asia.

I love the unpredictability of the job, the satisfaction of seeing people recovering, to be able to help those who can't help themselves and most importantly to spread the love of God and to SHINE His light in a world of darkness.

That's why I am taking Nursing. (By faith...)

And stop calling me MISSY. (Only close friends can... Hahaha)

Woo hoo~ Ytd marked my last day at AIA. It's bittersweet actually. I know I'd miss SOME of my colleagues cos they are the most fun/funniest people to work with. Hahahahaha. It's been a great joy working there under a great boss.

And I'd also miss SOME of the food there... Hahahaha.

  Orchestra rehearsal was quite fun tonight.

1) I've improved! (Or so I thought)
2) Choir combined with us for "Hallelujah Chorus"
3) Played through the song we're performing for next week and it sounded twice better than last week's.
4) SOFI WAS THERE!!!

But

1) Attendance was still bad
2) I was the only cellist and so was overwhelmed by the rest.
3) I started "Hallelujah Chorus" wrongly and Eric stared at me.

Haha, main point is, SOFI WAS THERE!!! =)

Met her up for dinner prior rehearsal and we ate the SAME food and drank the SAME drink! Hee... Good taste man. (Pun intended)

We love to self-entertain and disturb other commuters in the bus. Lol...

She's great pianist!!! My inspiration for piano. She'll will be playing the keyboard together with the orchestra, so WATCH OUT FOR HER!!!

Will be having piano exam in less than 2 weeks. But I still can't play those pieces perfectly... Or at least the way I want it. Tsk. And I haven't felt the urgency to practise hard.

Can't wait for exam! Cos I can't wait to get over it.

A desire to pack my bag and leave this country right now.

Sometimes my spontaneity amazes me. Sometimes it makes me feel irresponsible.

But almost every time, I love it.

 

I'll be free in the month of JULY. SO ASK ME OUT!!!!!!!!! Anywhere!!!

I need a getaway urgently. Lest I'd be suffocated.
